Finding my wedding dress

Finding The One: My Journey to the Perfect Wedding Dress

Shopping for a wedding dress is one of the most important moments of wedding planning. It’s a day I’ve dreamt about for a long time.

Here’s how I found my dream dress and the tips I picked up during the process.

Before I even set foot in a bridal boutique, I spent hours scrolling through Pinterest and Instagram, pinning everything that caught my eye. A pattern quickly emerged: I loved ball gowns, delicate lace, and long sleeves.

I booked appointments at three local bridal shops, giving myself enough time to explore without feeling rushed. At my first appointment, I was nervous. Would anything look good on me? Would I feel like a bride? I brought my mom and two sisters with me and we went to the first bridal boutique. The moment I walked in, the consultant made me feel at ease, asking thoughtful questions and pulling dresses based on my preferences.

The first dress I tried on was beautiful—but not my style. The second one? Closer. By the third dress, I started to understand what I liked and, more importantly, what I didn’t.

At the second boutique that we went to there were many beautiful dresses, but they didn’t have any ball gowns or lace dresses. I tried on some I liked, but not for my wedding day.

By the time we got to the third boutique, I started to lose hope a little bit. I really wanted to find something within my budget and I knew that this shop was the most expensive. There was a brand I like called Ines di santo and that was the reason I was going to this shop. Also a fun fact is that my husband‘s cousin works at a really nice bridal salon in New York City and she recommended this boutique, it’s called Carine’s bridal. when we got there, the boutique was so nice and it’s such a wide range of bridal gowns. I was so excited.

They also ended up having a Sample sale Monique Lhuhlier gown, that I noticed and was excited to try on. It was also in my price range which was surprising after trying on so many wedding dresses and really knowing what I liked it didn’t like I decided that this was my dress. It felt like such a a miracle to not only find my dream dress, but also perfectly within my budget. I couldn’t believe I was actually gonna wear a Monique lhullier wedding gown.

Saying “yes” to the dress was one of the easiest decisions of my life. Afterward, I couldn’t stop thinking about it—I even pulled up pictures of the dress just to admire it again. But what really sealed the deal was how it made me feel: confident, beautiful, and ready.

Lessons I Learned

1. Bring the right people. I kept my group small—which made the experience more intimate and less overwhelming.

2. Be patient with yourself. You don’t have to feel instant magic; sometimes, it takes trying on a few dresses to find your groove.

3. Stay true to you. Trends come and go, but your dress should feel authentic to who you are.

Finding my wedding dress was more than just picking out an outfit—it was a moment of self-discovery. When I found the one, I knew it wasn’t just about the dress. It was about feeling like the best version of myself, ready to walk into the next chapter of my life.

If you’re still searching for your dress, trust the process, embrace the journey, and remember: the right dress is out there waiting for you!
