“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. Everyone should look not to his own interests, but rather to the interests of others. ”
Philippians 2:3-4

Hello Everyone,
Welcome to the raspberry sisters blog, today the subject of serving has been on my heart. Having a servants heart is having humility and seeing others as greater than yourself and putting it into practice in your life.
In Mark 10: 43-45 Jesus is speaking to his disciples James and John about being a servant :
“But it is not so among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you will be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you will be a slave to all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Jesus is saying that to be great, you need to be a servant. You can’t lead without first serving. Servanthood ultimately is being sent to do the will of God and what he has called us to do is be servants first.
When we serve others and put their needs above our own we are honoring them above ourselves and ultimately honoring God.
Matthew 25:35-40 says:
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me; I was in prison and you visited me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and take you in, or without clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick, or in prison, and visit you? ’ “And the King will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
It’s my prayer for this year that I will focus more on feeding the hungry, giving water to the thirsty, and praying for the lost. As Christians, it’s our responsibility to put our faith into action and meet the needs of others.
“God is seen as glorious when all our serving is moment-by-moment receiving from God’s supply. We receive this supply by faith. That is, we trust moment by moment that what we need, in serving him, he will supply (“life, breath, and everything”). This is the opposite of being anxious. Such serving is happy. And it makes God look no less authoritative, but infinitely more desirable. This is the glory he means to have. The giver gets the glory.” – John Piper
Therefore, “serve the Lord with gladness” (Psalm 100:2).
How will you step into your calling to serve today? Pray, reflect, and ask God to guide you in using your unique gifts for His glory.
Love,
Moriah and Hope
