Moriah’s bridal shower + advice

I can hardly believe Moriah’s butterfly tea party bridal shower was one year ago! In honor of that and of the upcoming wedding season, I wanted to share the beautiful photos of her shower and give advice to anyone throwing one soon!

#1 My first tip after picking your theme/colors is to really lean into the theme – I bought and borrowed teapots/cups, butterfly confetti, garlands edible butterfly stickers, butterfly sugar cubes, etc! I also embraced a floral theme with dried flowers for table scatter and fresh flowers in teapot vases at each table. All the decorations filled the space beautifully, and everyone complimented them. I found most of the decorations on Amazon and Etsy.

#2 Have a signature drink! This is an easy way to individualize the shower, For Moriah’s – she made one of her favorite mocktails: a drink with raspberry simple syrup, lime juice, and sparkling water, we served them with cute pearl picks and a cherry.

#3 Favors. For the favors, we had homemade macarons with raspberry jam with a special label, and for the favor bags, we included herbal teas, a pink heart sugar cookie, pink heart glitter bath bomb, and a rose shaped soap.

#4 Have a cute themed backdrop

#5 Set up as early as possible

One thing we would change about the shower was the set up, because of where we were throwing it – we couldn’t set up until about 2 hours before the shower, of course we were running late that day, so we were setting up when the first guests were arriving, it was a stressful hour or so, but it worked out in the end.

#6 Get as many people to help as you can

Lucky for me, we had lots of help from our family with the shower: Our stepmom planned most of the food, and she, Moriah, and I cooked. I made the desserts, our Dad made the coffee and washed the teapots, and everyone helped decorate.

#7 Games. I found games for the shower on Pinterest and our mom bought prizes to give to the winners, This is a great way to break the ice and focus on the Bride.

#8 Buy extra! I highly recommend buying extra plates, utensils, and napkins!

#9 Online invites, We used Paperless post to create and send the invitations and it truly made it easy! instead of asking for addresses, I simply just need a phone number or email to. send them an invitation.

Bridal shower menu ideas: For Moriah’s shower, we had Charcuterie (made by her), a shrimp cocktail, deviled eggs, a vegetable tray, fruit kebabs, meatball cups, pasta salad, and assorted sandwich squares. For drinks, we had coffee, water, lemonade, Moriah’s mocktail, and, of course, tea!

Planning Moriah’s bridal shower was a sweet labor of love- a day I will always treasure. Watching her be celebrated by family and friends filled my heart with gratitude! I hope this post gives you inspiration if you’re planning a shower for someone close to your heart.

Beauty

My favorite makeup products

There is a simple delight in the little things- a pink blush to accentuate your cheeks and a well-loved mascara to coat your lashes. Beauty runs much deeper than what we wear or put on our skin – yet there is something beautiful about caring for our bodies with intention.

Your everyday makeup routine and products should make you feel feminine, refreshed, and more radiant – inside and out.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30

Primer: Refy głów & sculpt face primer

Foundation: For my everyday makeup, I use the Hourglass Veil skin tint, and for special occasions- the Hourglass ambient soft glow foundation. For a more budget-friendly option: The CoverGirl fresh skin milk foundation.

Eyeshadow: My favorite eyeshadow for a natural look is the Merit Beauty concealer stick- you can also use this as a foundation!

Inspiration/Encouragement

worldly success vs. success in God’s eyes

When I was growing up, I thought success meant having a big house, wearing designer clothes, having hundreds of thousands of followers on social media, and being able to buy whatever I wanted. I longed for the day I could shop without checking my bank account and live a life of luxury. You see, I had this underlying belief that one day, something I bought would make me feel whole—that one day, I would finally become whole and perfect from all my possessions.

Once I decided to go to culinary school, I assumed that I would work as a head pastry chef or own a large storefront bakery after graduation.

In the secular world, success is the next promotion, a pay raise, or the corner office. It’s not bad to work diligently and reap the benefits, but I have found that success, in God’s eyes is very different.

“God has not called me to be successful; He has called me to be faithful.”

― Mother Teresa

Success in God’s eyes is being a faithful servant, being last, trusting in Him, obeying him, and loving God and neighbors. True success is found in living a life that reflects your dedication to God!

“But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first”. Matthew 19:30

“The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” 1 John 2:17

Because of the culture here in America, It has become second nature to judge people based on their earthly achievements, What college they graduated from, where they work, what they wear, etc, As tempting as that can be.. in eternity none of those things will matter, All that will truly matter is if we lived a life surrendered to God. Worldly success is a temporary success.

“So as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.” Colossians 1:10.

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.” Proverbs 19:21

Success is walking faithfully in the purpose God has designed for us- and becoming a light that leads others to Him. Success in His eyes isn’t measured by titles, trophies, or how much we accomplish, It’s found in our faithfulness.

Spring into style: outfit inspiration for the spring season

Hi friends! There are few things more refreshing than the first signs of spring. The flowers begin to bloom, the sun lingers a little longer, and soft, warm breezes gently return—and suddenly, it’s time to shed the heavy coats and embrace lighter, lovelier layers.
Today, we’re sharing some of our favorite spring outfits to inspire your seasonal style.<3

For a classic elevated look, I paired a black shift dress with a patterned blazer and gold jewelry. The black dress is effortlessly chic, and my checkered blazer adds structure and polish to the outfit, making it perfect for church, meetings, or a lunch date! Hope’s outfit is perfect for days when you want a simple + chic outfit, the feminine fit and flare style is beautiful on its own, and can be dressed up or down with casual shoes, cardigan/blazers.

Stripes for spring, For this outfit, Moriah dressed up her jeans with a classic striped cardigan and sneakers- Perfect for an everyday look or running errands! I dressed my striped skirt by wearing a ribbed cotton tshirt and a vintage cameo necklace.

Dress in what delights You

This frilly, feminine top from Altar’d State is the perfect spring staple! Moriah paired it with jeans for a casual romantic look. Hope’s outfit is a blend of warmth and style with a hint of preppiness. The fleece tights and Chelsea boots keep things comfortable, and the structured sweater and skirt bring polish to the look.

As the days grow warmer, we hope these looks inspire you to dress in a way that feels fresh and joyful.
