Hi Friends! I’m here today with an amazing granola bar recipe, I loved those Chewy granola bars as a kid, but now that I’m older and more conscious about reading food labels, I tend to shy away from store bought granola bars. At the bakery where I work we make granola bars that are loved by all, So this past weekend I set out to create a granola bar recipe that was equally delicious but much better for you.

This granola bar recipe makes 16 servings, 152 calories per bar, and is gluten free!
- 1 1/4 cup oats (I used gluten free oats)
- 1/4 cup flaxseeds
- 1/8 cup chia seeds
- 1/2 cup sunflower kernels
- 1/2 cup almonds (crushed or chopped)
- 1/2 cup prunes
- 1/2 cup dates
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
Preheat oven to 325 F and grease a half sheet pan, then line with parchment paper for easy release.
Chop your almonds, prunes, and dates (I used a food processor to speed it up), add all your ingredients to a large mixing bowl, and mix with a spatula until well combined. Use your (greased) hands to press the granola mixture to the edges of the pan (you could also place parchment on top and use a rolling pin to spread it evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown. It may look a bit soft right out the oven, but it will firm up some.

My favorite thing about this recipe is how customizable it is, You can substitute almonds for any other nut, add more dried fruits/seeds, sub the butter for oil to make dairy free granola bars, or even add chocolate chips! if you made this recipe, please comment down below and let us know how you liked it/ what changes you made.
With love,
Moriah and Hope
